Murder probe opened into SBU officer killing in Kyiv's Holosiivsky district – SBU

A criminal case has been opened into the murder of an employee of the State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Holosiivsky district of Kyiv. The SBU and the National Police are taking a comprehensive set of measures to clarify all the circumstances of the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice, the SBU press service told Interfax-Ukraine.

"The pre-trial investigation is ongoing under Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer, a member of a public formation for the protection of public order and the state border, or a military serviceman)," the SBU said.A criminal case has been opened into the murder of an employee of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Holosiivsky district of Kyiv.

On Thursday morning, the Kyiv police reported that the body of a man with gunshot wounds was found in the Holosiivsky district of Kyiv, and police are establishing the circumstances of the shooting.

"Police are establishing the circumstances of the shooting in the Holosiivsky district of Kyiv. Arriving on a call, law enforcement officers discovered the body of a man with a gunshot wound," the capital's police said in a message on the Telegram channel.

Former intelligence officer Roman Chervinsky said that the murder victim was Ivan Voronych.
