Russian occupation forces launched a missile strike on Cherkasy in the morning, injuring seven civilians, including a 9-year-old child, Cherkasy Regional Military Administration head Ihor Taburets has said.

"At dawn, the Russian Federation launched a missile strike on Cherkasy. Fortunately, there were no fatalities. Seven people were injured, including a 9-year-old child. All of them are not seriously injured," he wrote in a telegram on Thursday.

According to him, there are several locations of falling debris in the city. Rescuers quickly extinguished all fires.

"However, there is significant damage to the residential infrastructure: at least a dozen and a half apartment buildings. There are broken windows, damaged roofs. Educational and healthcare institutions, forestry, the city cemetery, garages, cars - the Russians have caused enough trouble in the regional center. The territory is being surveyed. We will know the extent of the damage later," Taburets added.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in Cherkasy, rescuers, together with sappers from the State Emergency Service, are working at several locations at once. Windows and roofs in nine two-story apartment buildings were damaged. At least 15 apartment buildings and a local cemetery were previously damaged.
