Ukrainian PM: Situation with external financing is fully controlled
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko says that the situation with external financing is fully controlled, and all payments scheduled for August will arrive on time.
"This year, as a government, we plan to attract $39 billion in external financing. This is only for the 25th year. Of course, we are working with partners to obtain additional financing and have confidence in the 26th year. And if we are talking about the month of August, about the following weeks, then all payments scheduled for August will arrive on time. The situation with external financing is fully controlled," Svyrydenko said on the national telethon on Tuesday.
She said the 2025 funding includes EUR 12.5 billion in assistance from the European Union under the Ukraine Facilities program.
"In order to receive funding, we as a government, as a state, are fulfilling certain indicators aimed at reforming a particular industry that we really need. In the first quarter, we fulfilled 14 out of 16 planned indicators. This was indeed the quarter in which the largest number of indicators was fulfilled. The last indicators that we fulfilled were the ARMA reform. The president signed the law, for the fulfilment of this indicator, we as a state receive $560 million," the prime minister said.
She said two more indicators are in the final stage: one of them is the adoption of the bill on decentralization in the second reading; the second is the expansion of the staff of the High Anti-Corruption Court.
"Therefore, I want to reiterate once again that everything related to external financing, we believe and see that our payments will arrive on time, and the situation is fully controlled," Svyrydenko said.
According to her, the government also expects that the Verkhovna Rada will consider the issue of amendments to the state budget at the upcoming sessions, which will allow to fully meet the needs of the military.
