Ukrainian MP Yurchyshyn proposes resolution to resume livestreaming of Verkhovna Rada sessions

Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Freedom of Speech and a member of the Holos faction, has initiated a resolution to reinstate the livestreaming of parliamentary sessions.

"I'm registering a resolution to resume real-time online broadcasts of Verkhovna Rada sessions," Yurchyshyn announced on Tuesday via Telegram.

He urged fellow lawmakers to support the initiative and sign the draft resolution.

"People need to see what's happening in the Rada right now. We can talk endlessly about martial law and so on, but let's be honest: we've been through this before. It's time to stop using the war as a pretext to quietly tighten the screws and pass various kinds of disgrace. Society should not have to rely solely on MPs' social media streams for information – it should come from a dedicated channel created for that very purpose," the MP said.

He also reminded that the bill on livestreaming parliamentary committee sessions has been awaiting President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's signature since January 20, 2025.
