Kellogg to visit Kyiv in coming days – media

US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, is set to visit Ukraine in the coming days, the Kyiv Post reports, citing sources.
"The visit comes as a deadline set by the president for a peace deal with Russia is rapidly approaching. The news of Kellogg’s expected trip coincides with a planned trip to Russia by Steve Witkoff, another of Trump’s envoys," the article said.
Trump confirmed Witkoff's trip on Thursday.
"Yes, he's going to Israel, and then he's going to Russia, believe it or not," the president told reporters.
The sources said Witkoff's trip was "suggested by the Russians" earlier this week and approved, despite Trump's initial skepticism. The US president reportedly told advisers that he considered the trip "useless."
On Thursday, Trump told reporters that he expected sanctions to be imposed after the deadline he gave Russia for a ceasefire with Ukraine, set for August 8, expires. At the same time, he expressed doubt that such punishments would change Putin's behavior. "We're going to impose sanctions. I don't know that sanctions bother him," he said.
