Japan will continue to support Ukraine's efforts to achieve lasting peace as soon as possible – MFA
Japan will continue to support Ukraine's efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine as soon as possible, Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi said following a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sybiha.
According to the website of the Japanese Foreign Ministry, Takeshi held talks on Monday with Sybiha, who is visiting Japan to attend the Expo 2025 exhibition in Osaka, Kansai.
Sybiha expressed gratitude for Japan's continued support for Ukraine and noted the deep connection between the two countries. He then expressed readiness to further strengthen cooperation with Japan, as the situation around Ukraine affects the situation in the Indo-Pacific region.
"The parties had a frank exchange of views on the situation in Ukraine and the latest state of international efforts. Both ministers agreed on the need to continue close cooperation," the message reads.
