Zelenskyy: night attacks on power grid, gas station target heating season prep
On Wednesday night, Russian occupiers struck power grids in the Dnipropetrovsk region and shelled a gas station in Novosilske in the Odesa region, leaving hundreds of families without gas, such attacks are a deliberate attack on preparations for the heating season, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Also at night - vile attacks on power grids in the Dnipropetrovsk region, a drone strike on people in Kherson, an attack on a gas station in Novosilske in the Odesa region. Hundreds of families were left without gas. And this was a deliberate attack on our preparations for the heating season, absolutely cynical, like every Russian attack on the energy sector. Kharkiv region, Donetsk region - people's private homes were hit," Zelenskyy said on Telegram on Wednesday.
Also, as a result of shelling of a recreation center in the Zaporizhia region, 12 people were injured and two were killed. "There is zero military sense in this strike. Only cruelty to intimidate," the president said.
He noted that the Kremlin will sincerely strive to end the war only after feeling the appropriate pressure.
"And right now it is very important to strengthen all the levers in the arsenal of the United States, Europe and the G7 so that the ceasefire really comes immediately. Ukraine sees the political will, appreciates the efforts of our partners, America and all who help. And we are counting on the necessary decisions," the president said.
