Syrsky: Formation of units of robotic ground complexes is next step in development of capabilities of unmanned systems

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky has held a monthly meeting on the development of the Unmanned Systems Forces, listened to proposals and identified tasks for increasing capabilities.

According to Syrsky, last month, drones hit 23,400 enemy targets. The lion's share of hits were due to FPV drones and night bombers, the effectiveness of which is growing.

"The main priority is the destruction of enemy personnel. In July, forces of unmanned systems eliminated 5,134 occupiers. The leaders in this combat work are Ptakhy Madyara, the Phoenix and Achilles units of the State Border Guard Service. The formation of units of robotic ground complexes is another step in the development of the capabilities of our forces of unmanned systems. In this direction, we will develop both the logistic and combat components," he wrote on Facebook.

The commander-in-chief noted that "perhaps the most important part of such meetings is the exchange of experience between units." According to him, "this time, the commanders of the 59th separate brigade of unmanned systems, the 429th separate brigade of unmanned systems Achilles, and the Phoenix units of the State Border Service reported on their non-standard solutions and achievements."

They also heard a report on the implementation of the MiddleStrike drone project (range 50-120 km) and promising, innovative projects of unmanned systems that are being developed.

"I listened to proposals and requests, defined tasks for increasing the capabilities of the unmanned component of the Armed Forces. I wished the soldiers success in their combat work, and this success should manifest itself first of all in preserving the lives of our soldiers," added Syrsky.
