First negotiating cluster for Ukraine and Moldova to join EU should be opened simultaneously – Zelenskyy-Tusk talk

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has held a telephone conversation with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, in which they discussed defense production, support for Ukrainians, and the negotiation process regarding Ukraine's membership in the European Union.

“We also discussed the negotiation process for Ukraine’s EU membership. Donald and I agreed that the first negotiation cluster for Ukraine and Moldova should be opened simultaneously. Ukraine and Moldova began this path together and must continue along it together,” Zelenskyy said on X Friday.

He also informed about his conversation with US President Donald Trump and his European colleagues.

Zelenskyy and Tusk discussed existing diplomatic opportunities and agreed to coordinate and work for common European interests.

“Ukraine, Poland, and other European nations alike need strong foundations for their security and independence. A reliable peace is essential for all, and I am grateful for the readiness to help along this path,” the President noted.

In addition, the parties discussed some regulatory changes in Poland that affected Ukrainian students and applicants.

“During such a war, any difficulties for children, students are felt especially painfully. I asked Donald to consider this situation and help Ukrainian youth,” Zelenskyy reported.
