Stefanchuk and Swedish Parliament Speaker Norlen agree on actions for just peace in Ukraine
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk and Speaker of the Swedish Parliament Andreas Norlén agreed on actions to achieve a fair peace in Ukraine.
"I have had a telephone conversation with the Speaker of the Riksdag of Sweden Andreas Norlén. We discussed coordinated actions with partners aimed at achieving a fair and sustainable peace in Ukraine. I thanked him for his clear and principled position that any agreements on Ukraine cannot be made without its participation and taking into account its interests," Stefanchuk wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.
Stefanchuk noted that he and his colleague are united in the position that sanctions and political pressure on Russia should continue.
"I emphasized: Ukrainians want peace, but only on fair terms and with reliable security guarantees, so that Russia can no longer threaten Ukraine and other European countries. That is why it is important to maintain military and financial support until decisions are made that will fully comply with these principles, and at the same time increase sanction pressure on the aggressor," Stefanchuk emphasized.
