Zelenskyy on 'historicity' of Alaska meeting: We must wait for results

Key issues of territorial value cannot be resolved without Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Berlin on Wednesday, answering questions about the "historicity" of the planned meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday and about the readiness to hold talks on control over certain territories.

"It seems to me that the success of any negotiations depends primarily on the result and mood. Now our mood is absolutely united and has been very positive... This mood is already an important step forward. As for the historicity of the moment, I would not like to say such very loud words now – let's wait for the result. In any case, the key issues... regarding our principles, regarding our territorial integrity, are ultimately resolved at the level of leaders. It is impossible to resolve this without Ukraine, and, by the way, everyone also supports this," Zelenskyy said.
