Macron says main security guarantee is Ukrainian army – media

French President Emmanuel Macron said that the main security guarantee is "a Ukrainian army of several hundred thousand soldiers, well-equipped with the most modern defense systems," he said during an interview with the TF1 television channel following the summit in Washington.

Regarding security guarantees, France and the United Kingdom will convene a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, but these guarantees will not take the form of a commitment from Ukraine due to the resistance of the United States of America.

According to Emmanuel Macron, if "Russia takes responsibility for returning to the borders of Europe after the conclusion of a peace agreement," France will "react."

He added that Ukraine's partners have decided to organize a series of meetings: first a bilateral meeting between the two presidents, then a trilateral meeting with Donald Trump, and finally a multilateral meeting with the participation of Europeans. Such a meeting could take place in Europe, possibly in Geneva, Switzerland.

It was previously reported that Macron stated that representatives of European countries should also participate in negotiations between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia to end the war, as the security of all of Europe is at stake.
