Ministry of Economy begins final preparations for official EU screening in agriculture

The Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture has begun final preparations for the official EU screening in the agricultural sector, the ministry's press service announced.

"Screening marks the beginning of Ukraine's EU accession negotiations. Based on its results, we will have a clear understanding of the next steps Ukraine must take for further European integration. It is also necessary to account for the interests of the Ukrainian agricultural sector, particularly the dairy industry," the press service quoted Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Denys Bashlyk as saying during a meeting with dairy industry associations on the implementation of EU legislative requirements under Negotiation Chapter 11, "Agriculture and Rural Development."

Meeting participants reviewed the state of the dairy industry and Ukraine's progress in aligning its legislation with EU requirements. Bashlyk stressed that the main task is to thoroughly prepare for the September screening, and he underlined the importance of considering the dairy sector's views on the pace of aligning Ukrainian legislation with European legal standards.

The ministry noted that the official EU screening on Chapter 11 "Agriculture and Rural Development" will take place on September 8–10, 2025.
