The Cabinet of Ministers has allowed women deputies of local councils working on a voluntary basis to cross the state border without hindrance during martial law, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said.

"Today, the government adopted a decision that concerns women deputies of local councils working on a voluntary basis: now they will be able to cross the state border without hindrance during martial law," Svyrydenko wrote on the Telegram channel.

According to her, previously, even on legal leave, this category of women could not travel abroad.

"This limited volunteer activities and forced some to resign. The new decision removes these barriers. We want women deputies to remain active and continue to develop their communities," the prime minister added.

She noted that the changes apply to female deputies at all levels of councils, except for those who receive a salary for their work in local government bodies.
