Attack on Kyiv Putin's response to intl peace efforts, world must react – Zhovka

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva called on the world community to express a clear reaction to the massive attack by Russia.

"What happened today, unfortunately, is not the first precedent from the aggressor and, unfortunately, not the last. This is the response of the leader of the aggressor country to all the international efforts that have been made recently: by the President of Ukraine, the President of the US, the President of France, other European leaders in order to bring real lasting peace to Ukraine. Today, in fact, we received a response that is not unexpected, but is no less cynical, mean, harsh and terrible," he said at the 4th International Forum of the Expert Network of the International Crimean Platform on Thursday in Kyiv.

According to Zhovkva, this means that "today we must hear a clear reaction from the world."

"Every leader who is on the side of good, every representative of an international organization. Representatives of those countries that are still trying to be in the middle," the Office of the President emphasized.

Zhovkva also recalled Ukraine's call for the need to introduce secondary sanctions against the aggressor.

"We do not see a truce with you today. We do not see a readiness with you for serious negotiations at the level of leaders to establish peace. Therefore, this is our next appeal to our partners in the world: if the aggressor does not respond to the demands of representatives of the world community, the world must respond accordingly," he said.
