Poroshenko called Parubiy's murder a shot to the heart of Ukraine

People's Deputy and leader of the European Solidarity party Petro Poroshenko expressed his deep sorrow over the murder of Andriy Parubiy, calling the tragedy ‘a shot to the heart of Ukraine.’

‘Unfortunately, it's true. My long-time comrade-in-arms since the early 2000s, my brother Andriy Parubiy, was shot dead by monsters in Lviv,’ Poroshenko wrote on Facebook.

According to him, the attack was directed not only against the person, but also against the values that Parubiy embodied.

The politician recalled Andriy Parubiy's key role in forming the first volunteer battalions, supporting the law on the Ukrainian language, and the process of obtaining the Tomos for the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

‘His courage, sacrifice, and devotion to Ukraine will remain forever in the hearts of millions,’ he added.

‘This is an act of terror, and it is a matter of honour for the special services and law enforcement agencies to find and punish those responsible and involved,’ the leader of European Solidarity called on law enforcement agencies to take decisive action.

Poroshenko expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased and stressed that the cause of Andriy Parubiy will live on as long as the Ukrainian state exists.
