URCS personnel injured in Russian drone attack

In Kherson, employees of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) were injured in a drone attack.

"On September 15, at about 5:30 p.m., a URCS vehicle was hit by a drone in the Kherson region. The vehicle, which was clearly marked with the URCS emblem, was seriously damaged. The vehicle was carrying two employees of the Kherson Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross, who were returning after an information session on mine danger," the URCS said on Facebook.

Despite the damage to the vehicle, the volunteers were able to reach the nearest city hospital, where both victims were provided with assistance.

According to the Kherson Regional Military Administrastion, on September 15, the Russian Federation army shelled settlements in the Kherson and Beryslav districts, using artillery, mortars, and drones.

"We categorically condemn the shelling of humanitarian workers' transport marked with the URCS emblem. Such actions are a direct violation of international humanitarian law. We call for compliance with the norms of international humanitarian law and respect for the activities of humanitarian organizations," the URCS stressed. The organization noted that despite the constant danger and daily shelling, it continues to fulfill its humanitarian mission.
