Military recruitment official detained after multiple accidents injure police inspector
Ternopil law enforcement officers have detained a driver who caused several accidents and injured a police inspector. The suspect turned out to be an employee of the territorial military recruitment and social services center, according to police in Ternopil region.
On Wednesday, while monitoring social networks, police discovered a video in which the driver of a Skoda car, fleeing from patrol police, committed an accident.
According to preliminary data, patrol officers received information that the driver of the Skoda, who was probably intoxicated, driving from the city of Zbarazh, failed to comply with the requirement to stop.
During the pursuit, the driver created emergency situations for other road users and committed accidents with company cars, as well as with a truck and an Audi sedan.
The police detained the offender and took him to the Ternopil district police department to clarify the circumstances. He turned out to be a 31-year-old employee of the region’s territorial military recruitment center.
A few hours before the incident, this driver, while drunk, committed two more traffic accidents.
The issue of bringing the person involved to administrative responsibility under Article 122 (exceeding the established speed limits, driving at a prohibitory traffic signal and violating other traffic rules), Article 124 (violation of traffic rules that caused damage to vehicles), Article 122-4 (leaving the scene of a traffic accident), Article 130 (driving vehicles by persons under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other intoxication) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses is also being resolved.
The issue of detaining the driver is also being resolved.
