Ukraine destroys 2 Russian 'Chaika' amphibious aircraft

A special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR MO) Primary for the first time in history has hit two Russian Be-12 “Chaika” amphibious aircraft in the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea.
“On September 21, 2025, in the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea, the masters of the special unit, named Primary, of the GUR MO of Ukraine hunted down two Russian anti-submarine amphibious aircraft Be-12 “Chaika.” This is the first defeat of the Be-12 in history,” GUR said on Telegram on Monday morning.
The Be-12 amphibious aircraft are equipped with expensive equipment for detecting and combating submarines.
In addition, during the raid, the unit hit another multi-purpose Mi-8 helicopter of the Russian invaders.
