Trump to criticize UN at General Assembly for inaction on war in Ukraine – Rubio

U.S. President Donald Trump plans to criticize the organization for its inaction in ending wars, including in Ukraine, during his speech at the UN General Assembly, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said.
I think it's emblematic of how feckless the UN has become as an organization. The question is, why do we still need the UN? It has enormous potential. This is an organization that can do great and important things in the world, but right now it is not doing so," Rubio said on Fox News.
He recalled that Russia's war against Ukraine is ongoing, and the UN "is not playing any role."
As Fox News on the X social network notes, citing Rubio's remarks, the secretary of state expects Trump to call the UN "helpless" today. The president intends to challenge the UN to find its purpose, meaning and usefulness as an organization, he said. As it seems to be failing at its mission, but it's pretty good at spending money, Rubio added.
