Media spots Russian landing ship 12 km off Danish island coast

The Russian landing ship Alexander Shabalin has been on duty at the border of international and Danish waters with its signal turned off in recent days, the Ekstra Bladet newspaper has reported.

Journalists were able to confirm the ship’s presence 12 km off the coast of the Danish island of Langeland using helicopter footage.

As reported, airports in Denmark have been closed twice in the past week (in Copenhagen and Aalborg) due to drones spotted in the sky. The newspaper notes that the Russian ship is located at a distance of 70 km to 270 km from all airports and military facilities that have come under attack and may serve as a base for drones.

The police reported that they took into account the presence of the ship Alexander Shabalin near Danish territorial waters when investigating incidents with drones.

Earlier it was reported that on September 22, due to several “large” unidentified drones, the airport in Copenhagen was temporarily closed, and the airspace was also closed over Oslo (Norway). Within a few hours, the UAVs “disappeared,” and the police began investigating the incident. Late in the evening of September 24, Aalborg airport was temporarily closed due to drones in the sky
