USTomahawk missile saga may last several months - Rada delegation head to NATO PA
The saga with the deliveries of American Tomahawks missiles may take at least several months, predicts the head of the permanent delegation of the Verkhovna Rada to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Yegor Chernev (Servant of the People faction).
"Regarding Trump's decision to provide us with Tomahawks, everything will not be as fast as we would like... It is no coincidence that Trump said that he almost decided that he did not want escalation, and that he wanted to clarify how these missiles would be used... So the stages are clearly defined: I can change my mind and not deliver, I can deliver, but not allow use, I can allow use only for specific purposes, and so on," Chernev wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
According to the MP, the Tomahawks are a means of putting pressure on the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, and an attempt to force him to negotiate, and only then - strengthening the military capabilities of Ukraine.
He emphasized that at each of the listed stages, Putin is given the opportunity to retreat and go to negotiations, and therefore, most likely, the supply and use of missiles will be very gradual.
Chernov said that "this whole saga may take at least several months," but this will already be real pressure and a real argument.
