The State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), with the assistance of the Minister of Defense and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has uncovered a new Federal Security Service (FSB) agent infiltration into units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine: a Russian citizen was detained who, under the guise of a volunteer, joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"As a result of a special operation in Lviv, a Russian citizen was detained who, having volunteered in one of the combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, began working for the Russian special services," the SBU said on Telegram on Tuesday.

According to the SBU, in particular, this person was correcting the occupiers' missile strikes on the Lviv region.

"In order to carry out the enemy's task, the person was dumping the coordinates of the temporary base of his unit and adjacent military units to the FSB," the report states.

The person was also sending the enemy geolocations of armored columns, transit warehouses, and fleets on the Ukrainian border.

The Russian agent maintained contact with the curator through anonymous chats. "To conspire the agent's communication, the 'mole' used three smartphones with different operators, including those of the European Union," the department specifies.

SBU officers documented the agent's intelligence activities and detained him when he was heading to an ATM to check the receipt of money from the Russian Federation.

It was established that in order to attract the man to cooperation, the FSB involved his brother from Russia.

SBU investigators informed the agent of the suspicion. The suspect is in custody.

The special operation was carried out under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office.
