The President’s Office of Ukraine has held a meeting with a delegation from Ireland. The discussion focused on strengthening the country's energy resilience, Ireland's support for Ukraine's path to EU membership, and increased sanctions pressure on Russia, the press service of the President’s Office said..

"Deputy Head of the President’s Office of Ukraine Ihor Brusylo held a meeting with the Irish delegation, led by Gerard Keown, Director of the Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade," the president's website said on Monday.

It is reported that Brusylo provided a detailed account of the consequences of Russian strikes on energy infrastructure and emphasized the importance of strengthening Ukraine's ability to counter these attacks. "Irish representatives assured of their readiness to strengthen our country's energy resilience," the message reads.

Ireland's support for Ukraine's path to EU membership was also discussed. Brusylo noted the importance of opening the first negotiating cluster simultaneously for Ukraine and Moldova. "Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2026 opens new opportunities to accelerate the negotiation process. We look forward to close cooperation during this period for Ukraine's European future," he noted.

The parties also discussed increasing sanctions pressure on Russia and using frozen Russian assets to rebuild Ukraine. They also discussed the implementation of the Agreement on Support for Ukraine and agreed on a schedule of high-level contacts.

Brusylo thanked Ireland for its consistent support of Ukraine, particularly for its recent decision to allocate over EUR 35 million in humanitarian aid. He noted that the funds will be used to build school shelters and a rehabilitation center, as well as to reform school nutrition.
