Zelenskyy and Stubb discuss the need to strengthen air defense

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has held a telephone conversation with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, with whom they discussed Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy supplies and the need to strengthen air defense.

“Now, as the war in the Middle East comes to an end, it is important not to lose the momentum for advancing peace. The war in Europe can also be brought to an end, and for that, the leadership of both the United States and other partners is of utmost importance. Today, I spent nearly an hour discussing all of this with President of Finland Alexander Stubb,” Zelenskyy said on X Tuesday.

He noted that he was coordinating his positions with the President of Finland. Furthermore, Zelenskyy noted that the right steps by the US could also help end Russia's war against Ukraine. "We have a corresponding vision for this," he added.

“We also discussed with Alex the recent Russian strikes on our energy sector and the need to strengthen air defense,” the head of state reported.

He thanked Stubb for his willingness to help and noted that Russia must be deprived of the opportunity to continue war and terror, and that "this can become a reliable basis for peace in our region."
