Coalition of the Willing to discuss future peace plan for Ukraine – European Commission

The coalition of the willing will meet on Tuesday to discuss progress on a future peace plan for Ukraine, which began with talks in Geneva and is based on the proposed plan of US President Donald Trump.

The corresponding announcement was made on Monday at a briefing in Brussels by the European Commission’s chief spokeswoman, Paula Pinho.

She confirmed that an informal meeting of European Union leaders began in Angola on Monday morning to discuss the interim results of the talks that took place on Sunday in Geneva between the US, Ukraine and representatives of the European Commission.

"We see that there is still a lot of work to do. We are ready to make our contribution. And in this sense, let me also mention the extraordinary meeting of EU leaders that is taking place this morning and was convened by Council President Antonio Costa. It started at around 10:30 in a hybrid format in Angola. It is assessing the next steps, which will include tomorrow’s meeting of the Coalition of the Willing. So European engagement will continue on all fronts to ensure a just and lasting peace for Ukraine," Pinho said.

According to her, the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing will be held in a video conference format.
