URCS volunteers help evacuate people during Russian airstrike on Mykolaiv
Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) volunteers evacuated people during the morning attack by Russian UAVs on Mykolaiv.
"This morning, Mykolaiv was hit again. The URCS rapid response team in Mykolaiv region quickly arrived at the scene. In close coordination with rescuers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, volunteers patrolled the area to identify victims. They notified the population of the need for evacuation, helped people quickly and in an organized manner to leave the danger zone, and ensured the evacuation of elderly people and citizens from low-mobility groups who could not leave their apartments on their own," the URCS reported on Facebook on Monday.
In addition, specialists provided first psychological aid to people while waiting for the end of the alarm in a safe room.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, as a result of the fall of debris from a Russian UAV onto the roof of a 9-story building in Mykolaiv, an elevator shaft caught fire. 240 people were evacuated from the house and two neighboring houses, as well as a nearby kindergarten and lyceum.
