Umerov: Significant progress achieved during negotiations in USA, but certain issues require further development
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and head of the Ukrainian negotiating team in the United States, Rustem Umerov, reported to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the results of two days of negotiations in Florida.
"I had a phone conversation with the President of Ukraine following the Ukrainian delegation's work in Florida. Over two very productive days in the USA, we spent many hours of meetings and negotiations. We managed to achieve significant progress, although certain issues require further work," he wrote on Telegram.
Umerov thanked the American side for their "constructive and partner-like approach." The parties agreed to maintain "constant and close contact throughout this process."
"We are preparing a full report and will soon present it to the president in person during a meeting in Europe, where we are already departing with the negotiating team. We continue to work for peace in Ukraine," he concluded.
