The head of the operational training department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Fanil Sarvarov, was eliminated in Moscow in a car blast, and Russian law enforcement officers already suspect Ukrainian special services were behind the assassination.
"On the morning of December 22, an explosive device installed under the bottom of a car was activated on Yaseneva Street in Moscow. As a result of the injuries received, the head of the operational training department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Fanil Sarvarov, died," the representative of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Svetlana Petrenko, told reporters on Monday.
She stated that one of the versions of the murder, which the Russian investigation is working out, is the alleged "organization of the crime by Ukrainian special services."
