Working group to draft bill allowing democratic elections to be held – Rada speaker
The chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, is confident that the working group will prepare a draft law that will allow democratic elections to be held during martial law.
"I know for sure that this working group will develop a document that will enable us to hold safe, democratic elections," Stefanchuk told reporters on Monday at an event in Kyiv celebrating the Diplomatic Service Day.
According to Stefanchuk, the law will only be used once.
He recalled that the working group must address many issues, such as voting in occupied territories, creating polling stations abroad, ensuring the participation of international observers during the elections, and guaranteeing the right to vote for military personnel.
