Russian attack damages Lebanese-flagged civilian ship carrying Ukrainian soybeans in Odesa port
As a result of the night shelling on December 23, a civilian ship under the Lebanese flag, which was transporting Ukrainian soybeans, was damaged in the Odessa port, and the liquidation of the consequences of the shelling is ongoing, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction - Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba has said.
"Also, as a result of the night shelling in the Odesa port, a civilian ship under the Lebanese flag, which was transporting Ukrainian soybeans, was damaged. Fortunately, there were no casualties," Kuleba said on Telegram on Tuesday.
According to him, civilian warehouses and critical facilities were also damaged in the Odessa region.
"The enemy is once again trying to destroy the logistics, economic and energy stability of Ukraine and leave people without light and heat on the eve of Christmas," the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction stressed.
The Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration (USPA) reported on its Telegram channel that there was also damage in the port of Reni, where administrative buildings and port infrastructure were damaged.
"All services are involved in eliminating the consequences of the attacks. Work continues continuously," the USPA added in a message.
Head of the OVA Oleh Kiper reported that the Russians had once again struck the Odesa region, with numerous damage to infrastructure recorded.
"At night, the enemy carried out another massive attack with strike UAVs on the south of the Odesa region. Damage to energy, port, transport, industrial and residential infrastructure was recorded in the affected areas," he said on Telegram.
