Alpha SBU unit destroys over 500 enemy air defense systems

Special forces of the Alpha unit of the State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) have destroyed more than 500 units of Russian air defense systems.

"In our own way, we "congratulate" the enemy on today’s Air Defense Day of the Russian Land Forces. After all, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, our soldiers of the "Alpha" special unit of the Security Service of Ukraine have systematically destroyed the enemy’s "impenetrable" air shield," the SBU said on Telegram on Friday.

Among the targets hit were key elements of the so-called "most modern Russian air defense": S-400 and S-300 long- and medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems, Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun complexes, Buk-M2 / Buk-M3, Tor-M2, Osa and Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile complexes, as well as radar stations, command posts and detection means, without which air defense turns into a blind and uncoordinated system. "The work carried out has undeniable value: it made it possible to break through corridors in the multi-layered system of Russian air defense and provide passages for strikes by Ukrainian long-range drones deep behind enemy lines - on bases, warehouses, airfields and other military targets," the message said.
