ATB, McDonald's, Ukrzaliznytsia top monobank customer spending rankings in 2025
In 2025, the ATB retail chain led the groceries and supermarkets category by total spending by monobank customers, with UAH 35 billion 327.6 million, McDonald's ranked first in the cafes and restaurants category with UAH 6 billion 607.8 million, and JSC Ukrzaliznytsia topped the travel category with UAH 5 billion 13.9 million, according to the bank's dashboard.
According to the data, in the groceries and supermarkets category, second and third place were taken by Fozzy Group retailers Silpo with UAH 23 billion 898.2 million and Fora with UAH 10 billion 537.3 million.
The top five by this indicator also included Novus with UAH 7 billion 789.9 million and VARUS with UAH 3 billion 879.0 million.
The second five were Blizhenko with UAH 1 billion 767.9 million, Marketopt with UAH 1 billion 726.8 million, Tavriya V with UAH 901.1 million, THRASH!TRASH! (Fozzy Group) with UAH 803.2 million, and Velmart with UAH 454.9 million.
A year earlier, Novus ranked third in this category with UAH 6 billion 206.7 million, while Fora held fourth place with UAH 5 billion 71.9 million. In 2024, Auchan with UAH 1 billion 125.8 million and Sim-23 with UAH 397.0 million were also in the top ten, but dropped out last year.
Meanwhile, in the cafes and restaurants category, after McDonald's the largest spending volumes were recorded for Glovo with UAH 5 billion 342.6 million, Bolt Food with UAH 953.6 million, KFC with UAH 911.1 million, and Puzata Hata with UAH 811.3 million. They were followed by Lviv Croissants with UAH 445.0 million, Osama Sushi with UAH 266.4 million, Pizza Day with UAH 174.2 million, Portmone with UAH 139.0 million, and Domino's with UAH 105.6 million.
In 2024, KFC ranked second in this category with UAH 651.0 million, while Puzata Hata was third with UAH 442.4 million, whereas Glovo and Bolt Food did not appear in the top ten. Two years ago, Buffet with UAH 77.4 million and Aroma Kava with UAH 71.0 million were also among the top ten.
In the travel category, after Ukrzaliznytsia the highest spending volumes were recorded for Booking.com with UAH 752.1 million, Kyiv Digital with UAH 327.3 million, Ryanair with UAH 320.3 million, and the Kyiv Metro with UAH 309.2 million. The next five included LvivAvtodor with UAH 197.0 million, EasyPay with UAH 141.0 million, City Card with UAH 91.4 million, FlixBus with UAH 87.9 million, and Portmone with UAH 55.9 million.
Based on 2024 results in the travel category, Ryanair ranked second with UAH 1 billion 409.9 million, FlixBus was third with UAH 719.5 million, while Booking.com held eighth place with UAH 148.0 million. In addition, two years ago the top ten included online ticket search and purchase services Tickets.ua with UAH 258.0 million and Proizd.ua with UAH 73.2 million.
According to the monobank dashboard, in the structure of customer purchase counts, groceries and supermarkets account for 42.5%, cafes and restaurants for 12.4%, and travel for 5.5%.
As reported, the branchless mobile bank monobank was founded in January 2017 by former top managers of PrivatBank – Oleg Gorokhovsky, Dmytro Dubilet, and Misha Rogalskiy. It operates under the license of Universal Bank, which is part of the TAS Group (Kyiv), and currently ranks second in the market by number of cards issued.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, as of November 1, 2025, Universal Bank had issued a total of 26.45 million cards, with transactions conducted on 9.88 million of them during the month.
