Germany will allocate an additional EUR 60 million aid package for winter and energy support for Ukraine, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha announced.

"I highly appreciate Germany's additional EUR 60 million package for winter and energy support for Ukraine, announced today by my friend and colleague Johann Wadephul," he said on the social network X last week.

Sybiha noted that this assistance will help keep citizens warm and protected by strengthening heating and heat supply systems, with a particular focus on frontline regions.

"We value Germany's steadfast solidarity," the foreign minister added.

The German Foreign Ministry confirmed this statement, emphasizing that Germany, along with Austria, is taking on greater responsibility for Europe. Germany also emphasized that "Putin's brutal attacks are aimed specifically at civilians and energy infrastructure."

"Because we must present a stronger, united front in a more complex world. We share a common understanding of international challenges and objectives. We support Ukraine. Therefore, Germany has mobilized an additional EUR 60 million for heat, protection, heating systems, and hot water for people in Ukraine," the message posted on the social network X reads.

The German Foreign Ministry stated that Germany must demonstrate its ability to act in the new global situation.

"This includes taking responsibility for our security and advancing EU enlargement. We also support the Mercosur agreement," the message reads.
