Poroshenko Foundation and Kyiv's European Solidarity donate 700 more gas burners to residents
The Poroshenko Foundation and Kyiv City Council deputies from the European Solidarity faction are handing over 700 gas burners to residents of the capital.
The leader of European Solidarity reported on Facebook that this is the second batch of equipment, the first 300 burners were delivered to the areas of the capital that are most affected by the energy disaster, where there is neither electricity nor gas.
"Fierce frost, mountains of snow, ice - and nearby a crazy northeastern neighbor who does not abandon his own dreams and tries to break Ukrainians with cold and darkness. Kyiv lives in extremely difficult conditions. Russian strikes destroyed part of the generation that provided the city with heat. It is cold in homes, people are forced to survive without light and normal heating. That is why our Kyiv team of European Solidarity together with the Poroshenko Foundation has prepared the second batch of gas burners," Poroshenko wrote.
"The first batch was instantly sold out among Kyiv residents who do not have gas stoves in their homes. A gas burner is an opportunity to warm their hands, heat food, and heat water. And this is support not only for Kyiv residents, but also for rescuers, electricians, energy workers, and utility workers who work at the limit of human capabilities, eliminating the consequences of shelling at 20 degrees below zero, without rest and heat. On such days, it is especially important to stick together," he emphasized.
"This fierce winter has become the harshest since the Maidan times, a real test for each of us. Insidious enemy shelling and prolonged power, heat, and water outages have forced the capital to live in constant stress," said Volodymyr Prokopiv, head of the European Solidarity faction in the Kyiv City Council.
"And that's why our team, together with the Poroshenko Foundation, continues to provide support to those who need it," said deputy Dinara Gabibullaeva.
Deputy Taras Kryvoruchko noted that the gas burners have also proven useful for utility services, which are working around the clock to eliminate the consequences of enemy attacks, so some of the equipment will be transferred to repair units.
Deputy Liudmyla Kovalevska added that "for the European Solidarity team, helping and protecting is not a slogan. We are always there for people in the most difficult times."
As it is known, mobile points have also been deployed in several districts of the capital, where people can wash and dry clothes, charge their electronic communication devices and drink hot tea. Currently, the points are operating in Holosiyivskyi district (10 Vasylia Kasiyana Street), as well as in Desnyanskyi at 23 Myloslavska Street and 63 Chervonoyi Kalyny Avenue.
