Russian strike knocks out power to over 80,000 in Novovolynsk – mayor

As a result of the Russian strike on the night of Monday, February 9, a high-voltage substation in Volyn was disabled, the mayor of Novovolynsk Borys Karpus has said.

"Currently, more than 80,000 subscribers from the Novovolynsk community and nearby settlements are without electricity. Critical infrastructure in the city is powered by generators," Karpus wrote in a Telegram channel.

He stressed that energy workers are working to restore electricity supply through other substations.

As reported, the Russians struck a power facility near the Novovolynsk community again at night. The city has water supply, some boiler houses have switched to generators.
