Ukrainian enterprises receive first permits for arms exports – Umerov
The Interdepartmental Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation Policy has resumed its activities – Ukrainian enterprises received the first permits for the export of "controlled goods," said Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov.
"The president of Ukraine set the task of opening exports of Ukrainian weapons in a controlled format. We are fulfilling it. The Interagency Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation Policy and Export Control has resumed work and held a meeting for the first time in eight months," he wrote on his Telegram channel Thursday.
Umerov reported that following this meeting, Ukrainian enterprises received the first permits to export controlled goods. "All decisions are under state control and with unconditional priority for the needs of the Defense Forces," Umerov assured.
He noted that as of now, the production capacity of Ukraine's defense industry exceeds $55 billion. "In the areas of UAVs, electronic warfare and intelligence, our capabilities are already greater than the volume of domestic procurement. Coordinated exports allow attracting investment, scaling up production and launching new technologies for the Ukrainian army," he added.
"Ukraine's defense industry has proven its effectiveness in war. Now our task is to turn this experience into long-term industrial strength and part of shared security with partners," Umerov emphasized.
