One person killed, five more wounded in Donetsk region over past 24 hours – authorities
One person was killed and five others were injured over the past 24 hours in populated areas of Donetsk region, according to Vadym Filashkin, head of the Regional Military Administration.
"Over the past 24 hours, one person was killed in Sloviansk, Donetsk region, and five more were injured: two in Sloviansk and one each in Dobropillia, Druzhkivka, and the village of Oleksiyivo-Druzhkivka. Some 444 people and 77 children were evacuated from towns close to the front line. The occupiers shelled Donetsk region 1,398 times. There isn't a single town in the region that hasn't been shelled, so... I emphasize once again that people should leave the region," he said on the Yedyni Novyny (United News) telethon.
Filashkin noted the slow pace of evacuation from frontline cities, in particular such as Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, and Kostiantynivka.
"More than 2,000 people remain in the town of Kostiantynivka... Going to pick them up... is practically impossible... Only our defenders can pick someone up from Kostiantynivka. For example, yesterday, guys from the 28th Brigade evacuated a wounded man from there... But it's very difficult and very complicated. It's also impossible to deliver humanitarian aid there because the enemy controls all access roads. The situation is similar in Lyman," the head of the Administration concluded.
