Ukraine, Romania sign documents on joint drone production, energy partnership — Dan
Romanian President Nicusor Dan said after talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Ukrainian-Romanian bilateral documents on joint unmanned aerial vehicle production and energy sector partnership have been signed.
"We talked about our cooperation in the military sphere and one of the signed documents concerns joint drone production in Romania… We talked about joint projects in the energy sector and one of the signed documents concerns our partnership in the energy sphere," Dan said at a joint press conference with Zelenskyy in Bucharest.
According to him, these are documents "that open a new chapter of trust in our bilateral relations." Dan thanked Zelenskyy and Ukrainians for a struggle that, he said, is being waged "for all of Europe, meaning for Romania as well."
"Today we signed a declaration on strategic partnership, and this is an important document in our bilateral relations. It should not be hidden that historically there was a kind of mistrust between our countries, but this mistrust was eliminated when the war began in 2022. Today our two countries will trust each other in what they will do going forward, committing to act together in this part of Europe," the Romanian president said.
The sides discussed Ukraine’s European integration and Dan confirmed Romania’s support in this process.
He also invited Zelenskyy to a Bucharest Nine meeting to be held in May in Bucharest.
