'LPR' hackers spread electronic mailing list infected with SPECTR virus among Ukrainian govt agencies - CERT-UA
Hackers from the "Luhansk People's Republic" ("LPR") have launched an electronic mailing list aimed at Ukrainian state agencies with the subject "supply." The message contains an embedded virus, according to the Telegram of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection.
The government emergency response team of Ukraine CERT-UA, operating under the State Special Communications Service, has warned about the distribution of e-mails with the subject "supply" among the state bodies of Ukraine.
The attack was carried out by the UAC-0020 (Vermin) group, which activities are associated with the so-called security agencies of the "LPR."
CERT-UA emphasizes that the attack on March 17 this year used the infrastructure that was used by the group back in July 2019, and the server equipment of the Vermin group has been located on the technical site of the Luhansk provider vServerCo (AS58271) for many years.
