Canada to continue supporting Ukraine in fight against Russia's aggression – SBU following up meeting with ambassador
Chief of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Ivan Bakanov has met with Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine Larisa Galadza to discuss further cooperation between the security agencies of Ukraine and Canada, the SBU said.
"We are grateful to the government of Canada and the Canadian people for their unconditional support for Ukraine during this challenging time. We have always seen from your side clear and timely actions in the form of material, technical and military support as well as sanctions against Russian officials and businesses," Bakanov said during the meeting with the ambassador.
The SBU chief also told the ambassador about the security situation in Ukraine, while Galadza stressed that Canada is perfectly aware of the real goals of the aggressor.
"Russia's goal is not only seizing of Ukrainian territories, but also elimination of Ukrainian identity. That is why our country and the whole civilized world will continue to support the Ukrainian people in its fight," the ambassador said.
The sides also discussed further cooperation between the security services of Ukraine and Canada, the SBU said.
