After the state registration of JSC Energoatom, Zaporizhia NPP, temporarily occupied by Russian invaders, remains invariably part of the company, said Acting Chairman of the Board of Energoatom Petro Kotin.

“The property of Zaporizhia NPP is transferred to the charter capital in the same way as the property of other separate divisions. The only difference is that its independent assessment will be carried out after the complete de-occupation of Energodar,” said Kotin.

At the same time, he said that the damage to the station caused by the Russian occupiers only during its capture in March 2022, and this means destroyed and damaged property and infrastructure, is preliminarily estimated at UAH 30 billion. At the same time, the lost benefit of Energoatom due to the shutdown of ZNPP amounts to more than UAH 167 billion, of which in 2022 - UAH 55 billion, in 2023 - more than UAH 112 billion.

Energoatom emphasized that since the beginning of the Russian occupation, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe has experienced eight blackouts. Its equipment continues to degrade, and Ukrainian personnel work under constant pressure from illegitimate leadership and representatives of Rosatom.

It is noted that the IAEA does not fully control the situation at the station, since its experts are not allowed into most production premises.

As reported, the state registration of Energoatom took place on January 11, as well as the registration of the company’s charter, approved by the government decree on the formation of the company dated December 29, 2023.

Zaporizhia NPP has not produced electricity since September 2022.
