France donates 6,000 tablets for teaching children from Kyiv region – authorities
Educational institutions in Kyiv region will receive almost 6,000 tablets from France, said Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Ruslan Kravchenko.
"The equipment will be transferred to 55 inclusive resource centers and two of their branches. The tablets will be used to organize individual correctional and developmental classes with children with special educational needs. Another part will be received by educational institutions where a large number of children study in inclusive classes. They will equip resource rooms for classes," Kravchenko wrote on Facebook on Sunday.
"In addition, the equipment will be donated for classes in shelters of schools in Kyiv region, the Small Academy of Sciences, medical colleges, and educational centers. Children from families in difficult life circumstances will also receive gadgets and live in Centers for socio-psychological rehabilitation. In addition to educational institutions, some tablets will be transferred to the Centers for the provision of administrative services for high-quality and accessible services to persons with disabilities," he added.
According to the head of the regional administration, the tablets were provided by French partners from the Ile-de-France region. The organization Fédération Nationale de Protection Civile also joined the project.
"We are grateful to our international partners who understand that war is not a reason to pause education and help provide our children with modern devices," Kravchenko said.
According to him, there are now more than 1,200 shelters in educational institutions in Kyiv region.
