Bulgarian PM calls on intl community to speed up creation of military tribunal over Russia
Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov has called on world politicians to speed up the creation of a military tribunal over Russia for war crimes in Ukraine.
"The war cannot end simply in peace. A tribunal must be held to restore justice. And I call on the international community to make this day come as soon as possible," Denkov said at a press conference with Zelenskyy in Kyiv.
He also stated that Bulgaria supports the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula and is ready to cooperate within the framework of the international coalition for the return of Ukrainian children illegally deported by Russia.
The Bulgarian Prime Minister stressed that the ongoing Russian aggression in Ukraine is a war against Europe, against the entire democratic world.
"Bulgaria stands in solidarity with Ukraine in its battle for a just world. Ten years ago, the illegal annexation of Crimea marked the beginning of Russia's aggression against Ukraine and opened the way to February 24, 2022. It is already clear that Putin's goal is not only Ukraine. It is much wider. The ambitions of Russian aggression are a threat to Bulgaria's national security. And therefore, the support of Ukraine is the protection of ourselves. Bulgaria definitely takes the side of Ukraine in this unjust war," he said.
