URCS Emergency Response Team involved in containing fire in Osokorky Ecopark
The Emergency Response Team of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) helped contain fire in Osokorky Ecopark on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday.
"On the evening of March 5, a large fire started in Osokorky Ecopark in Kyiv. In order to extinguish the fire, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine brought in special equipment: fire trucks, the Bohun all-terrain vehicle, quadcopters. The Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Department of Municipal Security of Kyiv City State Administration contacted the Ukrainian Red Cross with an offer to provide their resources to help fight the fire," the society said on Facebook on Wednesday.
The URCS Emergency Response Team quickly responded to the fire. For it elimination, two Bohun all-terrain vehicles, three units of other vehicles and five volunteers and personnel of the Emergency Response Team of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society were involved. A group of volunteers on duty were put on high alert and were ready to deploy an aid station if necessary.
As reported, the fire covering an area of about three hectares has been extinguished. The work of rescuers was complicated by the fact that the access routes to the fires were flooded.
