Defense Ministry issues explanation on admission of instructors from partner countries
On Monday evening, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine issued an explanation "regarding the numerous media appeals for the admission of instructors from partner countries," the ministry said on Telegram.
It is said that starting from February 2024, Ukraine has expressed interest in the prospect of accepting foreign instructors in Ukraine.
"As of now, we are still in discussions with France and other countries on this issue," the ministry informs.
It is clarified that the Ministry of Defense, together with the General Staff, began "internal work on relevant documents" on this issue in order "not to waste time on coordinating bureaucratic moments when an appropriate decision is made."
As previously reported, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, welcomed "France's initiative to send instructors to Ukraine to train Ukrainian servicemen and signed documents that will allow the first French instructors to visit Ukrainian training centers."
At the same time, the French Defense Ministry said in response to a request from the AFP news agency that sending military instructors to Ukraine to train the Armed Forces is "still being discussed."
