President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has held a meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda during a working visit to Warsaw.

"I informed about the Russian strikes. We discussed what is necessary to protect our people more. Defense cooperation and the needs of the Ukrainian defense forces are the main priorities," the President of Ukraine said on his Telegram channel.

The interlocutors also noted the importance of the inaugural Peace Summit and the security agreement signed between Ukraine and Poland earlier on Monday.

"We believe in a peaceful, strong Ukraine together with a peaceful, strong Poland. The Ukrainian army protects the security of Poland and Europe. And we are grateful that Poland is helping us," Zelenskyy wrote.

The head of the Ukrainian state thanked Duda for Ukraine's support and Poland's contribution to the fight against Russian aggression, Zelenskyy's press service reported.

"Poland, regardless of internal political processes, is united around Ukraine. Thank you for this position of support for Ukraine – our independence, sovereignty and assistance to Ukrainians from the very beginning of the war," Zelenskyy said.

In addition, he noted Poland's support for Ukraine on its way to the EU and NATO. "We have achieved a lot in these more than two years: from the application for candidacy and other steps in negotiations to the open path of membership in the European Union. Thank you for your position," the President concluded.
