Mediation missions between Ukraine and Russia can only be carried out by serious strong alliances – Zelenskyy on Orban's visit to Moscow

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that only serious strong alliances, for example, the European Union or states with a stronger economy and army than the Russian Federation, like the United States or China, can carry out a mediation mission in unleashing issues of war between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

"As for Prime Minister Orban: he was in Kyiv, after that he flew to Moscow. I didn't know that he was flying to Moscow. This is his independent choice. As for whether he can be an intermediary? There is no mediation between Russia and Ukraine. Only serious strong alliances can be intermediaries. The whole world can force Russia to stop this war. But it's not about mediation, it's about opportunities," Zelenskyy said during a press conference with the Polish prime minister in Warsaw.

According to him, "you [a strong state] must have an economy that affects Russia, or Russia and Putin depend on it. Or you have a very strong army that Putin is afraid of, which is stronger than in Russia. Are there many such countries in the world? No. I think the USA is such a country. I think China is such a country."

"And I think that the European Union is not just any country in the EU, but the whole European Union. It really can be such a mediation mission. Therefore, we offered the opportunity to put pressure on Russia and how to stop Putin. And to do this, one needs to combine all your forces. He doesn't respect those who are weak. And even if he meets with one country or another, it does not mean that he wants to end the war. He wants to demonstrate some steps. But behind this demonstration, he always has a bloody demonstration, which he demonstrated this morning in Ukraine," Zelenskyy said.
