Putin frames Orbán with massive missile strike on Ukraine – Kuleba
Vladimir Putin put Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán who visited Russia with peace initiatives regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war, in a difficult position by launching a massive missile strike on the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine on July 8, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.
"Let's be honest: Putin framed Orbán with this missile strike. As while Orbán flew to Kyiv, which was not agreed upon with Ukraine, he then flew to Moscow and China, and calls this missions the first, the second, the third talks about a ceasefire, and Putin strikes a children's hospital, Ukrainian factories, cities. Massively kills dozens of people. He puts Orbán in a difficult position," Kuleba said in a telethon in Washington ahead of the NATO summit.
The minister said against the background of such a Russian blow, it becomes very difficult to further promote the narrative that Putin is ready for some kind of regulation.
Kuleba again pointed out that Ukraine has a clear position, which was conveyed to Orbán in Kyiv: "no agreements on Ukraine without Ukraine," and there is no alternative basis for ending the war - the Ukrainian Peace Formula, which is based on the principles of the UN Charter and respect for the territorial integrity of Ukraine. "We are ready to talk about everything else, but these two principles are inviolable," he said.
The Foreign Minister also said it is necessary to continue to speak frankly with Hungary, since the Hungarians are neighbors, members of the EU and NATO.
