National Renewable Energy Action Plan requires $20 bln in investments – ministry
The implementation of the National Renewable Energy Action Plan, approved by the government, requires $20 billion in investments, according to the Ministry of Energy.
"According to the plan, the share of renewables in the gross final energy consumption in 2030 will be 27%, including 33% in heating and cooling systems, 29% in electricity production, and 17% in the transport sector," the ministry's website reported on Tuesday.
The ministry added that, according to the plan, new renewable energy capacities in the electricity sector should reach 10 GW by 2030.
The National Renewable Energy Action Plan supplements the National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) and outlines the development trajectories for the renewable energy sectors until 2030, considering the policies and measures defined in the NECP.
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the National Renewable Energy Action Plan until 2030 and the action plan for its implementation at its meeting on August 13.
"The document is closely aligned with European norms and standards. It is aimed at increasing the share of 'green' energy in the gross final energy consumption to 27% by 2030," said Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during the government meeting.
According to him, the plan includes 38 measures, prescribes performance indicators, and identifies those responsible for implementation.
